How to reset forgotten Apple ID?
  1. Go to iforgot.apple.com.
  2. Enter your Apple ID basically the email address associated with your Apple account.
  3. You would be asked to confirm the phone number associated with your account.
  4. You will get "Reset Password"notifications on your devicesthen follow recovery insrtuction.

TROUBLESHOOT:

Reset using your recovery key

  1. Press the option key to reset using your recovery key.
  2. Enter your  recovery key. It's the long string of letters and numbers you received when you turned on FileVault and chose to create a recovery key instead of  iCloud account (Apple ID) to unlock your disk.
  3. Enter your new password information, then press Reset Password.

Another way is to Reset password the following ways-

 Restart and show password options :

  1. If you see the option to restart and show password reset options, click it to restart your.Sign in with your Apple ID, if asked. Enter the verification code sent to your device.Enter your FileVault recovery key, if asked. It's the long string of letters and numbers you received when you turned on FileVault and chose to create a recovery key instead of allowing your iCloud account to unlock your disk.
  2. Select a user Admin  then click Next.
  3. Enter your new password information, then click Next. 
  4. When the password reset is completed,after that click Restart.
