why wont my pc turn on after building it

I built a computer and now i can't get it to turn on? I built a computer with a friend for school and we followed the manual. Now, six months later I come back and try to get it on and nothing, no response from hard-drive, nothing. What do I do?

The best place to start your question is at the beginning, so I'm going to recommend that you start from there. Speaking from experience when building a PC, it's very easy to forget one of the most important steps in the entire process: POST Verification. POST (Power On Self Test) Verification is a check performed by your motherboard when you first power it on to make sure that all of the hardware is working correctly and that you don't have any hardware conflicts. It's part of the Hardware Validation stage in the process of building a computer, and if not done correctly you may run into issues down the road, like what's happening here.
