he first thing to troubleshoot this is the wall outlet or power strip. Many times we forget that when an outlet or power strip is overloaded or faulty it will cause the same problem you are experiencing. If the outlet or power strip works with another device then the problem could be either the computer or motherboard. The next step is to enter the BIOS to see if there are any errors being reported. The last step is to replace the battery and test the computer without the battery plugged in. Some notebooks have a feature in BIOS that will allow the computer to start without a battery but other notebooks will not start without a good battery installed.
