having issues with the power button on my laptop. When I go to turn it on, the power button doesn't work. The computer turns on, but the light and fans are still off. It's not a power problem. I can turn it on with the button that turns it on and off only when it is plugged in


Check the Power Button .If your computer is plugged in and turned on, first try to check if the power button on your PC is working. If your computer is connected to a power strip, unplug it and try connecting it directly to a wall outlet. If it works fine then you may want to contact the power strip manufacturer to resolve the issue with your power button.

Once you've confirmed that the connections are secure and the power button isn't functioning, try turning on the computer using the OS X startup key (hold down the option, command, p and r keys on a Mac).
